Social Skills Activity Groups coming to 4S Ranch
Autism Education Services, will be sponsoring weekly fun after-school activity groups for students who are experiencing social difficulties including High Functioning Autism, Aspergers, and Attention Deficit Disorder.
Our Social Skills Activity Groups will engage your child in fun and enjoying activities while building his/her social understanding and confidence with peers by experts in the field of Autism and social development.
Small group sessions with no more than six children will be offered for ages 4-6 and 7-10 years. Students enroll for 6/groups per session and each session includes unique curricula and activities. Activities like Yoga, Lego Club, Wii Time, Master Chef, Music/Dance, Drama, Playground Games, Magic Time and Mad Science are some examples of the themes that will be offered to engage your child in exciting learning experiences with peers.
While they’re having lots of fun, we’ll be embedding social thinking concepts and facilitated practice into the activities through the use of social thinking lessons, video modeling, role-playing and other research based strategies.
The following dates are included in the Spring Session: May 1, May 7, May 14, May 28 and June 4
All groups will meet from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the 4S Ranch Library.
